Meeting & Falling In Love

Theresa was in Galena with a girlfriend just walking down the street in the middle of a Saturday when a guy ran out of a bar to get her attention to come to hang out. They kind of laughed and kept walking until she saw one of her best friends (and Maid of Honor!) run out after him to act as a wing woman! Turns out her bestie was on the Young Lawyers annual party bus/bar crawl and the guy she ran out to be a wing woman for was a fellow attorney and unbeknownst to her, Theresa’s future husband, Zeke! They quickly discovered they lived just a stairwell apart in the exact same apartment complex in the Millwork District!! They thought it was amazing that they were neighbors and had never seen each other previously.

When You Know, You Know

She knew he was the one at Back Porch Revival which was a huge all-day concert inside Kinnick Stadium in August 2016. It was the first time meeting a lot of Zeke’s friends and she got to see him in his element. She will never forget how sweet it was having him sing the lyrics of every song while looking her in the eyes for pretty much the whole concert! “It was then I knew life would be better with him in it,” Theresa explains.

Popping the Question!

Since they both lived in lofts in the Millwork District they would frequently meet on the deck for drinks and it is where they fell more and more in love with each other. Because of this – and their shared love for Christmas decor – Zeke secretly decorated the apartment deck in Christmas lights and set up a Christmas tree as well as chairs and a table with a whiskey for him and Chardonnay for her, just like they always had. He had a camera recording his proposal, sweet county love songs playing in the background, and a box full of photos he printed off for her to look through before getting on one knee and proposing! It was absolutely “perfect and unexpected”, Theresa recalls. And to top it off, she had no idea both of their families were at a local restaurant waiting to help them celebrate!!

Wedding Planning & Weekend-of!

We loved working with Theresa & Zeke for the Assistant Package! We were able to help them find any needed vendors, organize all of their stationery, transportation, and a ton of other logistics. The wedding day was simply gorgeous, and we had SO much fun!
