Stephanie and Sean’s Wedding at The Barn at Brophy Creek near Clinton, Iowa
Falling in Love at Augustana College
Stephanie and Sean met nearly ten years ago during their freshman year at “Augie”. They were both athletes and crossed paths a handful of times because it was such a small school. She would intentionally head over to the gym to work out when she was pretty sure he would be there playing basketball with his friends. They continued to cross paths and it took a long time before anything real happened. She recalls that there were quiet rumors she had been hearing that he had a crush on her. After a few weeks of flirting their junior year, he tweeted his phone number to her, not in a direct message – but an actual public tweet! From there it was official and they started hanging out regularly. He eventually texted her and asked, “Are you ever going to take me on a date”, and she, of course, knew this was his silly version of asking her out officially.
You’re the One for Me
Stephanie remembers a collection of moments when she realized he was the one for her over the last nine years. “I remember before we were even dating, and when I really didn’t know Sean very well, he felt familiar to me. He felt familiar when I would watch him play basketball. He felt familiar when I would see him with his friends. Then, I remember our first date being 2 hours of constant laughter at dinner. Meeting Sean’s family for the first time is another memory that I won’t forget. Leading up to that weekend, I remember Sean expressing how excited his mom was to meet me. While there for the first time, I distinctly remember Sean’s dad referring to him and I as ‘fatties’ and I immediately felt at home. In very different ways, both of Sean’s parents touched my heart so deeply the first time I met them. There are so many more moments I can recall that lead to me falling in love with Sean, but it was never defined as one moment. ”
Sean remembers a lot of the same moments, but specifically called out one big decision that really stuck out to him. As they were approaching the middle of senior year of college, Sean had determined he was moving to Peoria after college to work at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Stephanie also began looking for positions in Peoria to pursue after school. It all came together when she found a position that was right in line with her interests. It was set, and they were headed to Peoria to live together and Stephanie’s willingness to make that type of commitment is what won Sean over.
The Assistant Package with Soirée
Stephanie & Sean reached out to us a little more than six months prior to their wedding, and she had accompished a lot of wedding planning by then already having booked her florist, videographer, DJ, and beauty team. However, she needed help booking the remaining vendors plus managing everything else then that would need to be done. The Assistant Package was perfect for their needs. She was excited that we could help pre-plan some of the smaller details of the day and our expertise in pointing out some of the items that may have been forgotten. We got to work right away determining the timing of her wedding day and ensuring everything got back on track. It was so fun to work with this couple and we really enjoyed the special weekend! All our best wishes to Stephanie & Sean!
Major thanks to these amazing vendors who helped put everything together for the happy couple.
