Falling In Love

Matt and Shannon met at the University of Iowa while studying to become teachers. At the beginning of 2015, Matt and Shannon had every class together. Shannon jokingly called “dibs” on Matt with her girlfriends, thinking he would never be interested. She even called her mom after she met Matt saying, “There is a really cute boy in my class, but he would never date me.” It was not until the end of the school year that they finally connected, over a whiskey shot! It only took a little liquid courage. After a long summer, Shannon came back to Iowa to start fall classes. Matt and Shannon finally went on their first date on September 1st, 2015 at Mondo’s in Coralville. Shannon fell for Matt fast. Shannon’s mother approved of their relationship when meeting Matt for the first time saying, “He’s the one!” “Since you two are going to get married…”

The Engagement

Matt proposed to Shannon on August 18, 2018. He wrote her letters to revisit memories they created together in Iowa City. On the rooftop of a Wells Fargo bank, Matt got down on one knee and asked Shannon to be his wife. She was thrilled to say yes to a lifetime of happiness with her now fiancé. Matt then took her to the Vue, where he surprised her with family and friends to celebrate the day.

Soirée – Full Planning & Design

We were honored when Shannon and her mom, Therese, wanted us to help wtih all of the event design and planning. It was so fun planning a gorgeous and timeless wedding! We loved how their black & white color scheme perfectly matched their modern style. This wedding had hardly any greenery, a refreshing and fun take on the current wedding trends. This will truly be a wedding that has a timeless and beautiful design that won’t ever look outdated.

We also loved that Shannon and her mom truly trusted us with our recommendations for vendors & overall plans. They kept telling us over and over on the wedding weekend, how wonderful everything was. We are honored to have been part of Shannon & Matt’s wedding, and wish them all the best!
