Sara & Jeremy’s Wedding at The Englert in Iowa City & Reception at Little Lights on the Lane in West Branch, IA
That Magical Moment When You Know
One of the most romantic connections we’ve heard in a while is Sara and Jeremy’s story. She attended an Iowa Women’s Foundation luncheon, where Jeremy introduced the keynote speaker. Little did Sara know that when he got up on that stage in front of 800 women and talked about his high respect for women, she would meet the love of her life! He opened with how growing up with a single mother is the reason why he and his mom were the sponsors of the conference.
Near the end of the event, the IAF president, Dawn, announced to the audience of ladies that Jeremy was single. But Sara was one step ahead of everyone and had already sent him a Facebook friend request. Sara told her friend that “he is so beautiful,” which prompted her friend to find him at the conference and demand that he accept Sara’s request, and that he needed to take her out. It only took them four days later to finally meet and start their journey of endless memories!
The Engagement
The connection was there immediately for each of them. Sara understood how genuine and special he was. And same with Jeremy! Sara, a cabi stylist and a dance instructor at 360 Studio, and Jeremy owner of James Financial Group. Each truly felt like they found the one with each other. Come Christmas day of 2019, Sara had one last gift to open from Jeremy. Inside was a piece of wood in which Jeremy said “the gift must have fallen out of the bag, will you help me find it”? When she got up to look for it, Jeremy got down on his knee and asked for her hand in front of her entire family. Sara was in disbelief – even going as far as to say “is this real life?” After it set in, she said yes with tears, hugs, and happiness!
The Experience
Sara and Jeremey had chosen our Experience package, which made things so fun! We crafted the design & decor, organized how their day would go, and so much more. Some of this including helping with invitations, transportation, and hotel room blocking to ease any stresses! We were able to really grow with this couple and specifically define all of the details they wanted to make their day happen perfectly. With the wedding at Little Lights on the Lane, the couple opted for a modern elegant style. It was a beautiful setting to get married! It was a blast to work with them, and we are so grateful they let us design of their incredible day.
The Wedding Day
Above all, this was one of the most choreographed ceremonies we have ever been a part of! A joint love for art & performance, the couple held their ceremony at the Englert Theatre downtown Iowa City. We helped incorporate some of Sara’s dance students for the big day, which was a surprise for the guests. And, before joining in marriage they added a fun twist of inviting the young dancers to the stage to put on a show for the audience. This was one of our most memorable experiences and one of the most fun to plan. We helped the couple by including all of the personal touches that really made everything pop and specific to them. It was extraordinary!
A shoutout for awesome attire
Sara looked absolutely stunning in her custom gown from Jocelyn Taylor, which we helped shop for & design. She began with long white gloves that gave off major princess vibes! We love the all white bridesmaid dresses along side the cool & custom groomsmen suits, don’t you? Don’t forget to look for the pictures of her second surprise dress that she changed into after the sunset pictures. Absolutely amazing!
Congratulations to this beautiful and kind couple, we wish you a life long of happiness and fun!
