Sam & Maneesh’s South Asian & American Wedding at the Marriott in Coralville, Iowa

The most beautiful South Asian inspired wedding!

We are elated to share images from Sam and Maneesh’s travel-themed wedding. Given some of the unique traditions of South Asian inspired weddings, their events are incredibly special! From similar weddings we worked on in the past, we knew that there are not one, but multiple weekend events to orchestrate. Some are small and for family only. Others are major such as the Sangeet, Ceremony, and Reception. Because of these extra events, stuffing, sealing, stamping, and sending the Save the Dates and Invitations was a detailed process. We also managed all of the RSVPs as they came in the mail, ensuring a smooth plan for each event. We prepared seating assignments for the luggage tags that doubled as escort cards.

The Baraat

One of the traditional Indian aspects of their wedding is the baraat, where the groom arrives on a decorated white horse complete with gold glitter painted hooves.Soiree helped select the beautiful horse and musicians for the baraat from Chicago to ensure the best possible experience for Sam and Maneesh! He looked quite regal as guests danced around him to the beat of loud music and a dhol, an Indian drum.

The Ceremony

Immediately following the Baraat was the wedding ceremony. Sam looked stunning as she entered the ceremony in her western influenced white beaded gown. Her dress was accented by a gorgeous bright red dupatta, a sentimental gift from Maneesh’s mother. During the ceremony, Sam and Maneesh sat beneath a gorgeous white canopied mandap. Their ceremony was a beautiful combination of western and Indian traditions. Symbolizing loyalty, friendship, family and marriage, they exchanged both garlands and rings. We love the way Sam and Maneesh paid close attention to detail in order to incorporate and celebrate both of their cultural heritages. One of our favorite details that we suggested is their programs. Incorporating their love of travel, the programs were folded into paper planes and tossed as the bride and groom walked back up the aisle at the close of their ceremony.

The Reception

Sam and Maneesh’s wedding was filled with laughter, joy, bold, vibrant colors, and guests who did not shy away from the dance floor. This translated from one event to the next, as the reception began with a lively dance performed by the bride and groom, inviting others to join them. The reception also incorporated celebrations of both Indian and American culture, by offering dinner and music selections from both cultures.

This was one of our most unique and rewarding weddings, and we wish Sam and Maneesh joy and happiness as their ‘adventure continues.’ We are thrilled to share their beautiful photos below!
