Miranda & Kyle’s Wedding at Ashton Hill Farms in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Miranda and Kyle first laid eyes on each other their sophomore year of college in the dining hall, and the two have been inseparable since.

Luckily for Miranda and Kyle, the two had a mutual acquaintance that introduced them the fateful day that they first saw each other in their college dining hall during dinner. Two years later, the two got engaged on the beach in Hawaii with Miranda’s family in tow. They began planning their dream wedding which took place last September as Ashton Hill Farm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

3 weeks out… and Soirée to the rescue!

Miranda knew she wanted a wedding planner, but delayed booking until just 3 weeks before the big day. Soirée came into the picture during the final hours of their wedding planning journey, but the wedding couldn’t have turned out more perfect. Though the day began with some rain, it cleared up just in time for the couple and their wedding party to get some beautiful shots and capture their first look photos.

Miranda and Kyle wanted a simple yet elegant color scheme for their wedding. They chose a neutral theme with lots of white, green florals, mauve details, and blush tones. It looked absolutely stunning when it all came together at the venue. The night went off without a hitch, and the two danced the night away with their friends and family.

A few weeks after the wedding…

I ran into Miranda and Kyle at Target a couple weeks after the wedding was over, and they couldn’t stop saying what a major relief it was to have Soirée there running everything. They were so grateful for all the little things we took care of throughout the day like organizing things for the wedding photos, setting up centerpieces and table numbers, making sure vendors arrived, and helping with wedding party photos. From the little things like carrying the bride’s dress train everywhere to keep it out of the mud, helping stage her photos until she captured the perfect one, and ensuring they got all the best photos with her wedding party and family – no detail seemed to go unnoticed by Miranda and Kyle. Kyle said it was the best money they spent on their big day, and there’s no better feeling than knowing that we saved them from stressing and worrying about all the small things, and knowing that they got to focus on simply enjoying their day and being present in each and every moment.
