Dancing Into Her Heart

Lyndsey and John met in 2011 when John’s family moved to Iowa City. 14 year old Lyndsay decided to play “hard to get” and place John in the friend zone. After four year of pretending she didn’t have the biggest crush on him, John won her over with his amazing dance moves at senior prom.

The Proposal

John and Lyndsey were on their way to Lake MacBride for drinks prior to dinner with friends (or so Lyndsey thought). They had time to kill before “heading to Lake MacBride” so John suggested going to a familiar place for the couple — The Peninsula. When they arrived, a photographer was taking nature photos and eventually approached John and Lyndsey to ask to take some photos of them for a project she was working on. Lyndsey thought nothing of it and her and John agreed to help! While posing for photos, the photographer made small talk asking where they were from, how long they were dating and if they have thought about marriage. Lyndsey responded “I don’t know, we like each other a lot, so maybe in a couple of years.”

John began to go down on one knee and said, “Or, we could just do it right now.” Not only did he pop the question right there, he epically just pulled off Lyndsey’s surprise of a lifetime- she had NO idea!
