Nate and Lucy got engaged during a weekend trip to Chicago that began with a scenic boat tour along the river. Later that day, Nate brought Lucy to the rooftop of the London House, where rose petals, champagne, photographers, and their families were waiting to celebrate the moment. When it came time to choose their wedding venue, Cedar Rapids Country Club felt like the perfect fit—both of their families, including their grandparents, had been members, making it a place filled with meaningful memories.

Working With Soirée

Nate and Lucy chose Soirée’s Experience Package, which allowed Emily to craft their vision for all their events over their wedding weekend. Their celebration design was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and modern sophistication. Chic black-and-white stationery set the tone from the very beginning, while beautiful flowers, upgraded linens, a coordinating custom dance floor, and other special details carried the theme beautifully. Their classic white cake—delicately adorned with edible pearls—added a refined, romantic touch to the celebration.

Throughout the process, we curated an exceptional vendor team, managed contracts and timelines, and guided every design choice to ensure their celebration felt cohesive and personal. In the final weeks, we finalized comprehensive layouts and production schedules, communicated with all vendors, and confirmed that even the smallest details—such as ceremony cues, family logistics, and setup notes—were accounted for.

The Wedding Day Details

During the wedding weekend, our team led the rehearsal, oversaw the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces, styled each area with intention, managed vendor arrivals, and guided the flow of the entire day—allowing Nate and Lucy to remain present, relaxed, and fully immersed in the joy of their celebration. As with all wedding days, a few unexpected moments arose, but Nate and Lucy handled everything with grace, choosing to stay focused on the joy, the beauty, and all the things that went so wonderfully right. A surprise visit from the Iowa Hawkeyes mascot, Herky, added an unforgettable burst of fun for the couple and their guests, and the evening concluded with a glowing sparkler exit—the perfect finale to a truly memorable celebration.
