Elizabeth & Jeremiah’s Wedding at Eastbank Venue in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

A Love Connection

Elizabeth and Jeremiah grew up in the same area. In fact, Elizabeth’s mom was actually Jeremiah’s kindergarten teacher! Somehow it took a dating app to bring them together in the Iowa City area. One weekend after they started dating, Elizabeth joined Jeremiah on a 12 hour road trip. The trip didn’t go as planned but that didn’t even bother the lovebirds. When they noticed how much they enjoyed the time together and realized how much they balanced each other out, they both knew they had met their match!

Recreating The First Date

To celebrate their one year anniversary, Elizabeth and Jeremiah decided to recreate their first date by starting at Red’s in North Liberty for dinner and then walking across the street for Karaoke at J&As. They had a wonderful dinner together as they talked about how they were feeling after living together for the past 5 months and what they were most excited about for their future. Then, as they went out to his truck to put their leftovers in, (their first kiss was by his truck!) Jeremiah stopped, turned to Elizabeth and said “We’ve spent a year and a day together. How about forever and a day?” And with that he pulled out the ring and got down on one knee. Turns out his photojournalist friend was hiding across the street taking pictures and all of their friends had traveled from near and far to surprise Elizabeth inside J&As for an impromptu engagement party.

The Party Must Go On

The bride and groom booked The Essentials package with us for coordinating assistance. Like many couples last year, their original wedding was postponed due to Covid. They were able to have a small ceremony on their original date, and then celebrated one year later with a fun reception and party with friends and family.
