Lauren & Ryan’s Wedding at the Festhalle Barn in Amana, Iowa

The couple, Lauren and Ryan, wanted nothing but a sweet, southern style wedding.

Lauren and Ryan are all about their family so they wanted the ceremony and reception to be very intimate. The wedding took place at Festhalle Barn which gave them the rustic feel they wished for. The ceremony and reception were both held in the barn.

Soirée was hired for The Assistant planning package at this wedding. Through many emails and meetings with the couple and the bride’s wonderful mother, we were able to seal all of their plans together. We used our exclusive tools and precise checklists to make sure everything was set and ready for Lauren and Ryan’s special day. Layouts and day-of-coordination were also keys to success for this wedding. Soirée made sure the ceremony still had the intimate feel the couple was looking for by turning all the chairs at the round tables to face the stage where they would be married. After the ceremony, we set up the head table on the stage for the wedding party.

A pink and red color scheme, done well!

Lauren and her family did a beautiful job coordinating the decor with vibrant colors and their own personal touches. The flowers throughout the barn were several shades of pink with a pop of red. This paired well with the bridesmaids’ dresses that were all different colors, which created an ombre look from pale pink to bright red. Another lovely element was the silk drapery to enclose the barn’s pillars creating warmth and elegance to the rustic space. The drapery was angled just right to draw the guests attention to the center aisle. Although, our favorite element was the dazzling string lights that were hung along the entire barn and intricately wrapped along the wooden polls.

A big surprise, at the First Look!

One of the best memories of this day wasn’t your typical “awh” moment. The groom was waiting for his bride to come out for the First Look while the rest of the wedding party and family were peeking through the windows to watch the scene play out. Ryan felt a tap on his shoulder, and turned around to see his Best Man in a bridal gown and a white vail! The two burst into laughter and took a few photos. We loved their humor!
