The Perfect Proposal

Just like a lot of other couples in the modern day, Katie and Chase met online – Tinder to be exact! The two had their first date, and then their second, and by then, Chase knew that Katie was the one for him. It wasn’t until three months later that Katie started to feel it too and everything clicked! The two were meant to be. After that, it was time to wait for the proposal. Fast forward to June of 2018, Katie and Chase were at home and Chase wanted to give Katie his anniversary gift to her early. Katie is a sucker for gifts, so of course she said yes! Chase told her she needed to give him 10 minutes to get everything ready for her, so Katie set a timer for 10 minutes on her phone. When the 10 minutes were up, Chase told Katie to cover her eyes. He led her down the stairs and when she opened, she was surrounded by candles lighting their living room and Chase was on one knee with their adorable silver lab, Murphy by his side. The proposal was perfect, Katie had mentioned in the past that Chase could propose in any way as long as there weren’t a bunch of strangers around. Proposing in their home with their sweet pup was absolutely amazing!

Getting to Know Katie and Chase

These two Cedar Rapids based professionals absolutely LOVE going out to eat! Happy Hour on a patio is a favorite pastime of theirs, so making their wedding day one that was stress-free, laid back and a lot of fun was important! Plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment was the biggest goal for the wedding day, this wasn’t just a special day for Katie and Chase, but a special day for everyone that was special to them. When we say that all of these items were checked off of their list, we mean it! The food, the music, the dancing, the drinks, everything was so great!

Nothing would stop the Big Day!

After planning and discussing details for so long, it starts to feel like the wedding day is never going to come. But it definitely does! Katie and Chase were able to adapt to all of the pandemic changes that were necessary. One feature that we loved? Color coded wristbands for all of their guests depending on what they were comfortable with! Hugs and high fives cool with you? Great, there’s a wrist band for that. Want to keep your distance? Perfect, there’s a wrist band for that too! It was the perfect way to make sure all of their guests felt comfortable attending the wedding in whatever way they wanted to while still maintaining everyone’s personal preferences!

The next unexpected event? A derecho. Never heard of it? We hadn’t either! But it happened! A derecho (basically an in-land hurricane) hit the area just a week before Katie and Chase’s wedding day. Definitely not ideal… this was such a big event that the location for their wedding rehearsal and dinner the night before didn’t even get power back until minutes before their rehearsal was supposed to start! There were so many unexpected twists and turns, all we could do was roll with the punches and make it their dream wedding no matter what! That’s what we’re here for!

Overall, the wedding day was absolutely perfect (as is every other wedding we do)! We and all of their other vendors were able to adapt and adjust wherever needed to make the wedding day everything they had dreamed of. We are so proud of how beautiful and fun this wedding day was!
