Jessica & Luke’s Wedding at Little Lights on the Lane in West Branch, Iowa

Iowa City Romance

Jess & Luke met through Tinder while they both were living in Iowa City. Luke grew up in Iowa City and moved back home to attend law school at the University of Iowa after serving his country as a Marine. (Thank you for your service, Luke!!!) Jess grew up in Clear Lake, Iowa and then moved to Iowa City where she graduated as a doctor from the University of Iowa. Although they currently live in Washington DC, they both consider Iowa home.

Bright & Colorful

Jess and Luke are wonderful people and we are so happy we got to help them plan their wedding. They contacted us looking for full service event planning and design and booked The Experience package with us. Jess had so many amazing ideas and wanted a colorful wedding. Their venue, Little Lights On The Lane, is open and bright, which paired well with the wedding decor’s rich jewel tones.

The Perfect Day

The couple included lots of personal special touches for their celebration. You have to see the amazing & adorable portraits of them posed as the iconic subjects in the painting: American Gothic by Grant Wood. Jess also brought the wedding hat that her mother wore at her parent’s wedding and took pictures with it. Before the wedding, all of the women separated and went with the bride and all of the men went with the groom to deliver special toasts to the couple. It was so special to hear all of their friends and family share stories and well wishes to the couple just before the ceremony was going to happen.

The weather was perfect, everything was beautiful, the band rocked, and Jess and Luke got everything they were hoping for in a big celebration of their love!
