Jessica & Aaron’s June Wedding in Iowa City

It was simply a joy to work with Jessica and Aaron on their wedding!

These busy professionals met online when they were living in Michigan, and their first date was at a restaurant to watch the NBA playoffs. Jessica couldn’t have asked for a better time. Aaron agrees that it was perfect. They hit it off from day one, and the rest is history.

Surrounded by friends and family, June 10th was a gorgeous day for these two to celebrate their new life together as husband and wife. There were so many details that made their big day so special! From the very start of planning, Janice — the mother of the bride — wanted to plan extra special surprises for her daughter on the wedding weekend. We flew in macaroons from Washington D.C. – Jessica’s favorite. We had a special sign made of the letter that Aaron wrote to Jessica’s father asking for his blessing in their engagement along side a balloon that signified their relationship. Special cookies were the guest favors in the shape of the wedding cake, tying in all the fun blush and gold details of this beautiful wedding.

It truly was a wonderful event, and it was clear how much this couple is loved by their friends and family. The guest list grew so much in the final days prior to the wedding that we had to change the location of the ceremony from a small intimate chapel to the stately Congregational United Church in Iowa City. What a lovely problem to have, don’t you agree!

The reception was held at the University Club in Iowa City. The venue was absolutely stunning, with gold colors and blush accents — the perfect combination for this summer event.
