Jenny & Jim’s Wedding at Wilson’s Ciderhouse and Venue in Iowa City, IA

Meeting the Old Fashioned Way

Jenny and Jim met each other online… you know, the old fashioned way! After months of writing each other back and forth, Jenny decided they needed to meet in person and go on a real date. She wasn’t looking for just a pen-pal! They made a plan to have their first date to be a dinner and a movie, but Jim accidentally mixed up with his days and already had plans to go to a concert with a group of friends in Wisconsin that same day. Although this wasn’t really ideal, Jim called Jenny to tell her the mix-up but she decided she would take a chance and go anyway. Although their first date ended up being a group date, the two had a blast! After that, it was pretty much a done deal!

A Love for Travel and a Love for Each Other

After having their first date in Wisconsin, their relationship has involved a lot of travel. Jenny and Jim were living in different states, so planning get-togethers and dates meant a lot of driving to see each other. But that’s what you do for love! They stuck with the traveling theme as their relationship grew and now they have gone to 13 different countries and 39 states together. During their travels, the two learned a lot about each other. One of the most important things they learned was that there was no one else they would rather be traveling with.

Jenny and Jim had wanted their wedding day to incorporate their family history and traditions. Their theme was a mix of Scottish and Irish decor, and they had their own unique family plaid incorporated. They were imagining their day as being warm, inclusive, intimate and full of joy. There were lush florals and greenery throughout the room, a cozy lounge section for people to relax and mingle, and an extravagant dinner for everyone to enjoy, making it a truly elegant and intimate evening with their closest family and friends.

The Experience Package

Jenny and Jim had an amazing vision for their day with expectations of making it true to their passions and personalities. The Experience Package was the perfect option for them with a full design plan by Soirée. Jenny had seen our work on a previous Scottish themed styled shoot and loved it! Emily pulled some inspiration from that and incorporated other important and sentimental elements into their day. By bringing in a team of amazing professional vendors, their wedding dreams became a reality. With breathtaking greenery and florals by Hydrangea Bloom, gorgeous lounge seating table decor from Borrow My Vintage, and beautiful draping and decor installation by Unique Events, the look was complete. Their day was made a huge success by our strong team of incredible vendors! We absolutely loved being apart of such an incredible day!

Congratulations Jenny and Jim, we were honored to help make your wedding dreams come true!
