Holly & Jordan’s Wedding at Little Lights on the Lane in West Branch, Iowa

An Unexpected Romance

Holly and Jordan had initially met in middle school, so they hadn’t had many notable conversations. They attended separate institutions, so distance was easily kept throughout middle school and high school, but when they reconnected through mutual friends at the University of Iowa, everything changed. Holly said she was hesitant to start a romantic relationship, but Jordan was persistent. They spent every moment they could together, including studying for college classes, watching movies, or hanging out with their mutual friends. From there they both knew, it was a perfect fit.

The Proposal

These lovebirds enjoy weekend trips to different cities around the Midwest. This time in particular, it was to Minneapolis, Minnesota. In November 2019, they booked a hotel room at the Foshay Hotel, which happens to have a public museum and observation deck on the top floor. During their second night, they enjoyed a steak dinner, and Jordan had secretly planned to have the museum open up for just the two of them. They made their way through the museum and stepped out to the rooftop to take in the view of the city, and he popped the question! She couldn’t help but say, “Yes!”

Planning with Soirée

When Holly and Jordan reached out to us back in September 2020, their biggest priority was to create a clean and cohesive look for the entire occasion, especially when considering the color scheme and overall design. While The Assistant package doesn’t include a 90-page design plan, it does include our support, advice, and recommendations on design. It was the right support for what Holly needed to complete her visions for her wedding day.

Blush, sage, and a touch of gold brought a clean look while still adding a subtle pop of color to the venue, as well as the bridal party attire, invitation suites, and floral design. For them, having a cohesive look and feel didn’t stop at the design within their package with Soirée. We continued the planning process by assisting with vendor communication, timeline creation, and day-of assistance.

The Wedding Day

Saturday, June 5th couldn’t have brought better weather if we asked. The sun was shining with a warm breeze, and it was a great day for an outdoor ceremony. With eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen at their side, and their loved ones all around them, Holly and Jordan shared their nuptials in front of the gorgeous willow tree at Little Lights on the Lane. From there, the cocktail hour began and the celebration lasted until the very end of the night! It was an amazing event and we were so honored to make their dreams a reality.

Congratulations, Holly and Jordan! We wish you endless love in your future together.
