Hayley & Kyle’s Wedding at Ushers Ferry in Cedar Rapids, IA

How They Met

Kyle and Hayley met working at their college newspaper at the University of Iowa. Kyle was a year ahead of Hayley, and they remained friends after he graduated. They finally started dating right when Hayley was about to graduate. Haley claims she knew he was the one all along because one one can make her laugh as hard as he can.

The Engagement

While they were in Austin, Texas on vacation, they decided to walk around and do some shopping. Kyle wanted to take a photo together in front of the ‘I Love you So Much’ mural at Jo’s Coffee and then preceded to propose while they were taking selfies. It was cute and sweet moment they will remember forever. They celebrated their new engagement with some frosé on the patio of the hotel next door.

Wedding Planning

When Haley & Kyle booked with Soirée, they had a few of their plans already figured out, but quickly were realizing that they were going to want help to create a stress-free and fun experience for themselves and the families.

The Assistant package was perfect for them to help make sure they weren’t going to forget anything when it comes to the planning process. We recommended all the necessary other vendors they hadn’t figured out yet like the caterer, bartenders, rentals, decor, plus of course, providing coordination on the day-of.

The day came together perfectly and was full of fun, personal touches! They had a backdrop that was just like the wall in Austin for guests to take selfies in front of at the reception, painted on canvas by the bride’s dad. The “cookie-cake” was a hit with guests and was so yummy! All of the vendors knocked this out of the park and it was a wonderful celebration.

Overall, it was an amazing experience for everyone and we are so proud of our work! Congratulations Hayley & Kyle! We loved getting to know you and helping with your big day!
