Hannah and Kerry’s Wedding at Little Lights on the Lane

The beginning of a Love Story

Hannah and Kerry met in college at Kirkwood through a mutual friend, but nothing really sparked until they met again at a local bar. The two talked all night long, exchanged Snapchat usernames, and the rest was history!! 💜 Their first date was a four-wheel ride through the rain. They spent the entire night learning more about each other and basically sharing their life stories. It didn’t take much more than that before Hannah knew he was the one – she was sold! When Kerry asked Hannah to be his girlfriend on a blanket under the stars, he was convinced that she was the one, as well.

Finding the One (and by ‘the one’ we mean the ring)!

After 6 years together and 3 years living side by side, it was about time! Kerry made quite the trip to get the perfect engagement ring for Hannah. He shopped and searched for a long time to find the RIGHT ring and it wasn’t until he made his way up to Wisconsin where found exactly what he was looking for.

After a long night at a concert, Kerry woke Hannah up and asked her to go on a ‘Ranger’ ride with him. Hannah noticed he was acting a little bit off all morning but didn’t think much of it. They rode out to the tree orchard and the next thing Hannah knew, Kerry was on one knee with tears in his eyes asking Hannah to marry him.

To Keep the Date or not…

As we all know, 2020 has really been one for the books. Planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic is no easy task. Hannah and Kerry went back and forth trying to decide what the best option was, whether to postpone or not. At first, the two decided postponing would be the best. Like many other couples, this was pretty common and involved a lot of work to get the notice out to all of their guests and make changes with all of their vendors. After some thinking, the two decided to just go for it! That’s where we stepped in. Hannah and her mom reached out to Soirée, a mere six weeks before their wedding date. One day later, we jumped in and got them set up with a meeting to create their wedding invitations and day-of stationery. We were determined to help make this wedding day a breeze! After a couple of meetings and video chats, we had made it to the wedding day with one goal in mind: get Hannah and Kerry married!

The Big Day

The day started out with some rain and wind – not exactly ideal for a wedding day, but after a pandemic and a derecho (basically an in-land hurricane in Iowa, no biggie, right?), there was nothing stopping this wedding day. A ceremony that was originally going to be under the tree at Little Lights on the Lane was moved under the gorgeous porch. The venue made a quick change for us, got all of the seating moved, and then turned it around immediately after for cocktail hour. It was pretty impressive if you ask us!

Overall, it was a beautiful day and we were SO honored to be able to help on the biggest day of their life. Congratulations Hannah and Kerry! We wish you many years of love and happiness!
