Stand By Me

Emma and Ian are simply the cutest! They met while working at the University of Iowa and hit it off right away. Dating came naturally for these two because they had an instant and genuine connection. She said she knew he was the one for her after they moved in together. It was a gradual decision but a natural one! They had really started to seriously think about getting married because living together was just fun! They both compromised, shared responsibilities, and were having a blast. Their first dance song was a version of the classic Stand By Me and we think that it was just perfect for their wedding!

The Assistant Package

We love it when couples get started with their wedding plans and then reach out to us for help with making sure all the details get covered! At the time that they booked with us (this package), they had the venue, caterer, dress, and Save the Dates sent. So we jumped in to help them find the remaining vendors like photography, DJ, invitations, transportation, and more! Emma and Ian, along with her mom, Anne, really did a great job making awesome decisions with the wedding plans and it was SO fun to see all their plans come together!

A Brisk October Day!

Emma and Ian got married on October 26, and we really lucked out that it was dry, despite the fact that the high was only 51 degrees. Because we were able to communicate on the invitations and website that the ceremony was outdoors, most guests came in their coats, shawls, and wearing warm clothes. It worked out so lovely to hold the ceremony at the IMU’s gorgeous outdoor amphitheater. A beautiful (and reasonable length) ceremony was performed by one of the couple’s close friends who lives in Scotland. He cracked sweet jokes and kept the audience smiling the whole ceremony. Guests were then transported to the Festhalle Barn in the Amana Colonies where they partied all night!
