Danni & Tyler’s Wedding at Ashton Hill Farm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Since Freshman Year

Danni and Tyler are just one of those cute couples that you can really feel their love. They ooze cuddly affection and have googly-eyes for one another. They have been together since they first met their freshman year at college. Their  circle of friends insisted that they start dating. Tyler asked her out on a date, and he swept her off her feet. He describes that there wasn’t one singular moment when he knew he loved her, but it was “pretty early on.” He just knew that she was all he wanted and he would do anything to make her happy.

Danni said that actually, she did have a moment when she knew she loved Tyler. She recounts, “I am an early riser so I let him continue to sleep. I went back into the room an hour later and he was still sleeping. His cozy sleeping self was so cute and vulnerable, I just about melted.”

The Engagement

Travel is one of the activities that this couple thrives upon. They have been able to visit many places around the globe, but probably our favorite is when they were in the Exuma, Bahamas. This exotic destination is one of the places in our world with the clearest blue water, amazing snorkeling, and the infamous swimming pigs! While at a beautiful resort, Tyler took Danni out on a super-romantic date. Multiple food courses concluded with a scrumptious ending course. The server had just set down the dessert when Tyler decided that the moment was just right. He asked Danni to take a walk along the beach. She was a little perturbed [and wanted to stay at the table to enjoy the sweet dessert] but all feelings changed when Tyler got down on one knee and proposed under a beautiful evening along the ocean.

The Experience Package

It was SO much fun working with Danni, Tyler, and her mom, Angela, for The Experience Package that we offer at Soirée. We has so much fun designing and organizing the wedding ceremony & reception. Danni wanted a unique and trendy wedding that incorporated terra cotta, pampas grass, and all of the most amazing floral that Unique Events could incorporate. We loved how they trusted our ideas about layering decor on the guest tables for a stunning final effect. The pictures below are just stunning! Also, you simply cannot overlook the amazing hanging installation by Glen over their head table. It was one of the most incredible installs we have ever been a part of.

Covid Considerations

Just as every couple in 2020 made changes to their events, this wedding was not exactly what Danni & Tyler had envisioned. They made the difficult decision to scale down the number of guests attending the wedding to be socially and pandemic-ally responsible. We worked with stationers to send out regular invitations to those who were still invited. We also sent out some “un-invites” to those parties that we no longer had room for, since we made major changes to accommodate appropriate covid precautions. Luckily, guests were understanding and it was not an issue to scale back.

The Wedding Day

For those that were in attendance, it was a GORGEOUS celebration. We are so proud of how everything came together and how we made this wedding Danni & Tyler’s dream day. Congratulations to the couple and your families. We wish you all the best!
