It Was Fate

After a long search looking for a roommate for the spring semester, Brittany was scrolling The University of Iowa’s Facebook page one last time, hours before the deadline. Brittany saw a new post from a girl name Aubree looking for a last-minute roommate. Brittany went on a whim and messaged her. Aubree messaged her back almost immediately and asked to meet at Hillcrest, one of the dorms on Iowa’s campus, to meet.

When Brittany met Aubree, she immediately introduced all her friends on her floor. While they were sitting in the dorm room, Brittany noticed a very sweaty guy stopping by the door to talk to his friends. Matt, like a gentleman, introduced himself right away, and then, left to take a shower.

Matt and Brittany didn’t start dating until their sophomore year after Matt asked Brittany to attend a Beer Olympics. Brittany almost didn’t accept, as she does not drink beer, but she accepted. Unfortunately, they didn’t win the Beer Olympics, but Matt won Brittany over with all his charm, and they started dating shortly after.

An Unforgettable Proposal

Matt had an entire Saturday planned filled with Chicago tourist stops. Their first stop almost blew Matt’s entire plan. Brittany and Matt were on the top floor of the John Hancock building taking a photo when Brittany touched Matt’s jacket with the ring box and said, “What’s that?” Matt played it off with a ‘witty’ response, “Nothing.” Crisis averted.

Brittany and Matt headed to their next spot The North Pond at Lincoln Park Conservatory. They chatted as they walked along the pond, until they finally reached The Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool where Matt got down on one knee and asked Brittany to marry him. They were overwhelmed with emotions while a photographer captured their engagement.

Brittany immediately wanted to call her mom to tell her the news, but Matt insisted she waited and to enjoy the moment just the two of them. A few hours later Matt’s final surprise was dinner with their parents.

A Perfect day

With their ceremony location and reception space booked, Brittany and Matt were needing help with the overall of their wedding. During their free consultation with Emily, Brittany and Matt explained that they were wanting help designing their dream wedding. They were also needing assistance with organizing wedding vendors and communication, picking rental vendors, assistance with all wedding invitations and RSVP management. They decided The Experience Package was the best fit for their wedding day.

Brittany and Emily met to nail down the overall design of the day. Once they got approval, Emily got to work reaching out to necessary vendors to make their vision a reality. About six months prior to their wedding, Brittany and Emily worked on creating their invitations to be sent to print at Allegra. Once they were printed, a member of the Soirée Team stamped, stuffed, sealed and mailed their invitations so Brittany didn’t have to stress. Once RSVPs started to roll in, a member of the Soirée team inputted them into a shared google document to ensure seamless communication between Brittany, Matt, the Soirée Team and other vendors. The final weeks before the wedding Soirée really nailed down on over-communicating with the vendors to confirm arrival times and answer any questions before the big day.

The day could not have gone more perfect. We are so lucky to have met such a wonderful and sweet couple like Brittany and Matt! We wish them all the love and happiness in this next season of their lives! 🤍
