Getting to Know Each Other

Ansley and Nick met during their first semester of senior year at The University of Illinois. Nick remembers sitting behind Ansley and thinking she was super cute, down-to-earth, and funny. Ansley remembers passing back test scantrons and wondering why he was always on crutches. They only talked about that during their first semester. Luckily, they had another class in their final semester and were placed in the same project group. A couple of weeks later, they were both at different fraternity/sorority events at the same bar off campus and got to talking. During this time, Nick missed his bus home, and Ansley offered him a ride on their bus back to campus. Nick invited Ansley and her friends back to his senior house; the rest is history.

With the craziness that was 2020, Ansley told Nick she did not was to get engaged that year. Naturally, Nick waited 16 days into 2021 to propose on a ski slope during a trip to Galena to celebrate the new year.

Wedding Planning

With the hard decision of having the wedding in Chicago, or in the town they got engaged in, finalized, Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa referred Ansley and Nick to Emily for wedding planning. Ansley didn’t want to rely on a family member or friend to do little things during the wedding day. She wanted everyone, including herself, to relax and enjoy the day. After Ansley and Nick’s free consultation with Emily, they decided The Essentials Package was the best fit for them.

Emily was able to create a tailored timeline for their day. She also helped with all vendor communication prior to the wedding and during the weekend to ensure vendor organization and so much more. It was so great to be a part of Ansley and Nick’s wedding day! We wish them a happy future! 🤍
