Anita & Shawn’s Wedding at Old Brick in Iowa City

35 Years in the Making, for the Perfect Day

The two simply met when they were teenagers. They were in the same class at Regina High School. Anita and Shawn would pass each other in the hallways like it was no big deal. A simple party invitation years later resulted in the best first date ever for the pair. Before you knew it, it was time for wedding bells!

We loved coordinating the couple’s beautiful marriage at a landmark in Iowa City, IA. It started on a Friday evening, where the event was held in the beautiful Old Brick that is aged to perfection and filled with character. The high ceilings were lined with string lights which gave a feeling of being under the stars.

The night started with a brief ceremony having all eyes on the lovely bride and groom who were center stage. Immediately following, the room was fully flipped into the reception portion of the night. The colors of navy and gold with a glitter accent filled the room with a warm ambiance.

Catering was done by El Sol who absolutely rocked it. The couple as well as the guests were pleased with all you can eat tacos, chips and salsa, and can’t forget queso! The food was spectacular, an added piece to the great night.

Everyone danced the night away with some old school jams as well as new hits by the talented DJ, Mike with Midwest Pro. No one wanted the night to end!!!
