Best Friends… Forever!

Anika and Steven met while they were both attending Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. On their first night of freshman orientation, one of the upperclassman hosting a folk dance event grabbed Anika and Steven from the sidelines and made them dance with each other. After a quick introduction, they became each other’s first official college friend. Two months later, that friendship evolved and they officially started dating.

Long Distance Love

After dating for two years, Anika and Steven knew they were in love. However, they both discovered how much they truly loved one another when Steven studied abroad in England for Junior Year. After that, they knew they never wanted to be apart ever again.

A Memorable Tradition

Every year these college sweethearts enjoy their tradition of attending Nordic fest up in Decorah, Iowa. And every year, there is a huge fireworks display marking the end of the festival. However, unlike every year, this time Steven pulled Anika to a secluded spot to watch the fireworks and he proposed at the finale! After she said yes, they ran to meet all of their friends and family to celebrate.
