2016 Iowa Wedding Expo
As a former Catering Sales Manager for full service hotels, I have done my share of wedding shows. But the 2016 Iowa Wedding Expo was the first wedding show that I had done for Soirée, my own wedding & event planning business. I was super excited to design my booth and here are some of the details!
After much time scouring Pinterest for booth ideas, I decided to feature a booth in my brand colors while being on-trend with current wedding designs. I rented beautiful linens, brought unique items to showcase, and put it all together the day before the show.
Luckily my husband is pretty handy, so he helped me build and stain walls which were such a cool focal point in the booth. We purchased the wood at Menards, and brought it all home in their contractor truck. Kasey immediately started sanding off the roughness. Armed with design instructions from my dad, he and my brother built the end caps that held the long pieces that comprised the wall.
I really wanted the walls to be a beautiful grey color, and the results came out great. They ended up looking like beautiful old barnwood. It was super easy to wipe on the stain and wipe it off. The boards dried for a few days, and then we took them all to the wedding show!
Here is what the final product looked like!! I’m so happy with how it all turned out.
Here I am with my booth! It was a great show, and I can’t wait for next year!
